    See how Kestrel Health works

A guided walkthrough of the real Kestrel Health experience — the patient preference form, the patient feedback form, and the dashboard a practice uses to follow every referral. Everything below uses sample data and is safe to click through.

    1. GP refers

The GP writes a care plan referral as usual. It reaches Kestrel Health automatically — no new software for the practice.

    2. Patient shares preferences

The patient gets a short SMS link and tells us what matters: cost, travel, after-hours, telehealth, language.

    3. Kestrel Health matches

We match the patient with an allied health provider that fits those preferences, usually within 48 hours.

    4. Loop closed

The practice sees progress on a live dashboard, and the patient tells us how the appointment went.

    Step 2 of 11 · Patient touchpoint

    Patient receives SMS preference link

Once the referral is received, Kestrel Health sends the patient a link to capture their preferences for care — budget options, travel willingness, practitioner gender and treatment style.

Patient can act here — Patient can set their own preferences, ask a question, or opt out — all from the same link.

Step 2 — what the patient receives

Sent by SMS after the referral. It takes about two minutes and drives the entire match.

Fully interactive — but nothing is saved or sent.

    Understanding your preferences

We encourage you to provide as much information as you can, as this assists us with finding the right practitioner for you.

    Telehealth

Telehealth works well for services like Psychology, Dietetics, and Speech Pathology. Hands-on services (like Physio or Podiatry) will always be default matched to face-to-face providers if available, unless you let us know otherwise.

Note: Face-to-face Psychology typically costs $100–$160/session after Medicare rebate, however excellent telehealth options often fully bulk bill.

    Additional information

If you're being referred to multiple disciplines and any of the above answers differ, let us know here. For example: "I'd prefer bulk billing for my dietitian but happy to pay more for a specialist podiatrist."
